Using your ITF World Tennis Number (WTN)
After creating your ITF World Tennis Number (WTN), you can use this to find suitable opponents wherever you want to play. By using the WTN directory, you can search other opponents, check where they rank and then set up a game.
Starting from 40 (lowest) to 1 (highest), the WTN scale includes all players from the world's elite to a complete beginner playing their first match.
In the UK, the WTN will be displayed to one decimal place.
The WTN scale is age and gender neutral – so any two players with a similar Number can have a competitive match.
The WTN will be issued to players who are 10 years or older. Any player who signs up for LTA Advantage membership will receive a ITF World Tennis Number at the start of the year in which they turn 10.
Through your LTA Advantage account, you can submit match results and make it count towards your WTN!
Simply log into your Advantage account, head to 'My Game' and add your match details:
You can also download, print and scan your self-submission barcodes after each match to easily submit your scores while you're out and about.
The Game zONe identifies a range Numbers for opponents that would best suit your level - this supports finding evenly-matched players to provide the best-possible experience on court.
Example
A player with a Number of 30 may have a Game zONe of 27 – 33. This means the player would expect to have an even match against any other player with a Number ranging between 27 – 33.
The World Tennis Number will support Individual Competition such as Box Leagues and Matchplay and the potential to sort players in social, teams and coaching groups.
