We're looking for an inspiring and enthusiastic Tennis Coach, to join our friendly team, here at Forres Tennis Club.

The role will include group coaching, with the option of one-to- one sessions. The primary focus of the role is to deliver to our successful and established coaching programme of over 100 juniors, with great potential to develop the programme further with additional sessions. The successful candidate will work within all our programme sectors; junior, adult and competition.


Community Engagement: Promote tennis within the community to build a strong player base and expand the club’s reach utilising LTA initiatives.


Flexible Coaching Hours: The current sessions are Tuesday afternoon and evening, Wednesday afternoon, and Friday afternoon into early evening (the option to discuss alternatives with the successful applicant is available), with the potential to expand based on demand and your availability. Utilise the club’s four all weather courts, 2 of which are floodlit. Planning permission in place for the development of floodlights on the remailing 2 courts to increase capacity in darker months. The coaching programme runs all year with the use of the 2 floodlit courts at dedicated coaching times.


Create a Welcoming Environment: Foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all participants, encouraging growth and enjoyment in club activities and local leagues and competitions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in delivering high quality coaching programmes.
  • Mentoring of the clubs current volunteer and Level 1 coaching team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passionate about developing players of all ages and skill levels.
  • Minimum Level 2 qualification with funding support to obtain level 3.


What We Offer: An existing programme of coaching that can be developed by yourself with potential to grow and develop additional sessions. Great potential earning opportunity, especially with individual sessions.


Flexible Hours: FTC will work with the new club coach to ensure that the coaching programme works for all and will be as flexible as possible with court time. Enjoy the flexibility to extend your coaching hours and the programme with adult coaching, cardio tennis and opportunity to engage with a large active adult membership. The club currently offer holiday camps for juniors which can be developed further.


Growth and your availability: The potential to work as many hours as you wish is there, with the responsibility for building up those hours lying with you. The club committee will be supportive and seek to help you build your programme.


Start Date: ASAP (immediate start available dependant on circumstances)

Forres Tennis Club is a friendly and inclusive club in Moray with a membership of over 120 players and is managed by a dedicated volunteer committee passionate about sharing a love for tennis within our community.


We are excited to offer a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive tennis coach to develop the coaching programme for both juniors and adults of all abilities. We offer a competitive rate (based on experience) with the ability to earn generously from private individual sessions.

The successful applicant needs to be passionate about tennis and be willing to be part of a close-knit club and committee who are dedicated to providing excellent experiences for our members and reach out into the wider community.

  • Experienced minimum Level 2 coach.
  • Be able to work daytime, evening and the potential for weekend work.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with people at all levels, as well as lead a team of volunteers and coaches.
  • Be hard working, highly motivated, committed, ambitious and have initiative.
  • Be professional, reliable and have a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Be actively seeking CPD.
  • Have a good playing level and a genuine passion for tennis.
  • Show attention to detail and good administration.
