The Executive Team
Scott joined as CEO of the Lawn Tennis Association on 8 January 2018. Prior to joining the LTA, Scott has had a successful business career in the sports and leisure industry.
As Group Chief Executive of David Lloyd Leisure, Scott led the business from 2007 through to a sale to TDR Capital in September 2013. Scott stayed with the company as CEO until July 2015 and continues to hold a Non-Executive Director role.
Julie Porter joined the LTA as Chief Operating Officer in May 2018. Julie started her career in 1991 as a graduate trainee with Aldi before moving to Lidl as Regional Director. In 2000 she joined David Lloyd Leisure in operations and in 2003 moved to Barcelona to set up David Lloyd Leisure in Spain as Country Manager. She returned to the UK in 2006 to take up a position as Product Development Director and in 2009 added Marketing to her responsibilities.
From 2012 Julie took up the role of Chief Operating Officer with responsibility for sales, operations, marketing and digital, product development, business development and human resources.
Vicky joined the LTA in 2013 from Compass Group where she had held several senior HR roles, one of which was being responsible for the development and delivery of the companies first ever on-line training platform. Vicky began her HR career with Marks and Spencer working at their flag ship store and was responsible as HR Manager for opening the companies first food only store in Pinner, Middlesex.
In 2017, Vicky won Personnel Today – HR Director of the Year, recognition for the work she had done in establishing an HR function at the LTA, including the recruitment and development of all colleagues, and introducing in 2014 the organisations Values.
In 2021, in addition to her HR responsibilities, she became Executive Lead on the LTA Inclusion Strategy which covers not only the LTA colleagues, but also volunteers, coaches, players and officials.
Simon joined the Board on 28 November 2016 in his capacity as Finance Director. He is a trustee of the LTA Tennis Foundation, a member of the LTA’s Investment Advisory Group and is also responsible for the LTA’s legal team, with Executive responsibility for the LTA Tennis Foundation.
Simon has over 15 years’ experience in the sports industry across a number of different organisations. Prior to joining the LTA, Simon was Head of Finance and Business Development at Team Sky and, prior to that, spent 15 years at Sky, leading finance teams supporting business areas including marketing, technology and Sky Sports.
Simon is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, having trained and qualified with KPMG.
Olly has a wealth of experience across British tennis having worked at the LTA in a number of roles over the past 20 years. His early roles saw him lead our work on competition, tennis products and programmes, and supporting commercial tennis operators.
Olly joined the Executive Team in May 2014 in the role of Director of Major Events and Competitions moving on to Participation Director in 2018 and oversees our work across participation, competition, coach development & support, sustainability, and safeguarding. His role also includes the management of the LTA’s relationship with Sport England, National and County & Island Associations and our customer support function.
Michael Bourne joined the LTA as Performance Director in October 2020, and oversees the development and delivery of the performance strategy for the LTA.
Michael has extensive experience of elite performance programmes and player development from across a wide range of sports. Prior to the LTA, he spent 6 years at UK Sport, undertaking a number of roles, including a period as Director of Performance, which included oversight of investment into Olympic and Paralympic sports in the UK. Whilst there, he was also responsible for the performance functions supporting elite athlete preparations towards the Games.
His career has also seen him work for the English Institute of Sport, and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and Michael is currently a non-executive director for England Netball.
Chris joined the LTA in 2019, initially as Head of Strategy and Innovation, taking up the role of Digital and Events Director in February 2021. He took on accountability for Technology in May 2023.
Chris began his career at Accenture where he worked as a consultant on the London 2012 Olympic Bid, before joining the London 2012 Organising Committee, where he led a number of data and digital projects, developed the customer experience strategy and managed a number of operational projects during the Games. Chris then worked for 6 years as an international sports and event consultant, where he worked for a number of Sports Governing Bodies including the International Tennis Federation (ITF), the International Olympic Committee and the Football Association.
Chris has responsibility for delivering the LTA’s major events, which includes grass court tournaments at the Queen’s Club, Eastbourne, Nottingham and Birmingham, international team events (Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup) as well as 15 other professional tennis events on the ITF’s World Tennis Tour. Alongside this, Chris leads the LTA’s digital transformation and technology teams, who are responsible for the development of a number of digital products and services that help deliver the LTA’s strategy of opening up tennis.
